Four generations of flooring expertise — from travelling carpet salesmen to one of Lancashire’s most trusted home interiors retailers. Since 1961 we have traded from the same site on Brownedge Road in Lostock Hall, Preston, growing from a carpet specialist into a full home interiors destination.
Today the business is run by our third and fourth generation with the same aim as always: the best quality, the best value, and after-sales service that will not be beaten. We stock flooring from the UK’s leading manufacturers, furniture from top British brands, and a carefully selected range of lighting and accessories.

The Roots of a Passion
Our first generation worked in the flooring industry, establishing a deep family knowledge of carpets and floor coverings that would be passed down through the generations.
The Business is Founded
Our second generation founded Carpet and Furniture Supplies in 1961, opening a store on Brownedge Road, Preston — the same site we trade from today — offering quality carpets and professional fitting.
Third Generation Joins
The third generation joined the business in 1969, continuing the family tradition of quality and service that had defined the business from the start.
Founder Retires
After over 30 years building the business from the ground up, our second generation founder retired in 1993, leaving the business in safe and experienced hands.
Fourth Generation Joins
The fourth generation joined the business in 2000, bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to a family business with nearly 40 years of heritage behind it.
Preston Rugs is Born
Preston Rugs launched as a trading name alongside a new website, bringing the expertise of Carpet and Furniture Supplies to customers across the UK.
