Patterned carpet is what woven Axminster and Wilton are for. The pattern is woven into the carpet rather than printed on top of it, so it runs right through the pile and does not wear off the traffic line — which is why the stair carpet in an old hotel still shows its design after thirty years.

This page gathers every patterned range we stock from both mills, grouped by what the pattern actually is rather than by who wove it, because that is how people choose. Thirty-four of them, from a single quiet check through to a Timorous Beasties butterfly drawn at full scale.

All of them are on display at the showroom, which is the only honest way to judge a pattern: a repeat that looks busy at the size of a photograph very often reads as quiet texture once it is down across a real floor.

A patterned floor usually needs a plain somewhere — up the stairs, in the next room, or as a border. These are the plain and heather ranges we stock, several of which are woven to coordinate with the patterns above: Bell Twist, Bell Twist Heather, The Chroma Collection, Lumora, The Velvet Collection by Brintons, Purely Natural Twist, Purely Natural Chroma, Grange Wilton, York Wilton, Ulster Velvet.

See a pattern in your own light

Woven carpet never reads correctly on a screen, and it rarely reads correctly under showroom lighting either. Come and look at the displays, then take a sample home with you — we are happy to book one out so you can live with it for a few days and see it against your own walls, at your own windows, morning and evening. If it is easier, we will bring samples out to you and measure up while we are there.

The showroom is on Brownedge Road in Lostock Hall, a few minutes from Preston, Bamber Bridge, Penwortham, Walton-le-Dale and Leyland, and we take samples out to homes across Chorley, Longridge, Kirkham and the rest of central Lancashire.
